Light begins to dawn... Using the restore disks wouldn't solve this
problem, would it? If not, then the whole thing makes more sense. This
computer had been on loan to a friend for quite some time, and while the
friend had the computer, it got a really nasty virus. I'm not sure how she
got it running again, but I wonder if it was still lurking somewhere when my
daughter got the system back.
