If she can get any problems in the BIOS setup straightened out, then doing a
restore from a restore CD would reformat the drive and put on a clean new
operating system, so that would fix things, yes. That's assuming she gets
any BIOS problems straightened out and can then do a clean install, of
course. If the computer was out on loan and came back with at least one
nasty virus you know about, then that certainly raises the odds this is some
kind of pest at work. She didn't loan at the camera or its flash memory as
well, did she? A virus in the flash memory could easily have just been
waiting for the camera to be hooked up to a computer again.
