Goodbyes don't take six months. It very quickly turns into torture. The
phone ringing, the doorbell, doctor's expressions, waiting for lab results,
watching all your loved ones falling apart around you.

I'll deal with my guilt over their not being able to say goodbye in the
afterlife. In this life, I won't put them through it.
