May be a county thing here, I don't know. I don't think I could do the
diesel fuel type cremation that farmers used to use on my animals, I'd
rather be a chicken liver and pay someone else to dispose of them to save
myself the horrible experience but then I don't depend on my animals for
livelihood. As Eli pointed out the federal rules for disposal, it might be
that my brother just didn't want to crank up the big John Deere and dig a
hole big enough for the cow. I think he said it cost $150 to have her
disposed of. He doesn't lose that many cows fortunately and I know I'd
rather pay $150 myself and not have to deal with it. Never mind that I'm
fixin' to go to the chicken house and execute some ole rooster for supper
chicken and noodles. The grandkids are looking forward to pluckin the
chicken but they'll be spared the execution process. They've been singing
"She'll be comin' round the mountain" all morning.
