I think the solution for diehard WP DOS fanatics is probably going to end up
being running two computers, either networked or on a KVM switch: one with
an OS no later than Win98SE that is loaded with their WP and DOS utilities
for producing the lines, and one with a newer, more secure operating system
connected to the internet and loaded with any more modern software they
need. Running WP DOS plus medical dictionary and expander is already a
maybe thing on Windows XP, and it's probably just going to get harder with
the next OS out the door.
