Need advice re visitors

I'm about ready to pull out my hair over this situation. We have drop in
visitors all the time, usually stay a few minutes and leave, but there is 1
family who drops in at the drop of a hat almost on a daily basis. They
never, ever call, just drop by and stay for hours. Last night they "dropped
by" at 9:45! We had gone to bed at 9:30 as we planned to get up early this
morning since we're taking the grandkids back to Texas and then going on
vacation. Well, OBVIOUSLY we were either (1) in bed or (2) not home since
all lights were off. They knocked on the door and Ron got up. He came back
to the BR and said, "It's Bill and Loretta." I declined to get up. He
thought I was rude and I guess I was but I was so tired that I really didn't
care if I was rude or not. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation
without being REALLY rude? And was I rude not to get up? Ron is kinda mad
at me. He thinks I was rude, I think I was TIRED and didn't want company.
