OT: The storm that came from hell! (vickie here)

Well....you would think with the hurricane one would have had enough! On
Wednesday...out of nowhere...around 12:40p, it turned black as tar here in
Western Richmond VA and low and behold, I found myself on the kitchen floor
with both dogs shivering in the worst nightmare I can recall! I have got to
tell you that the hail was pounding, wind was so heavy, felt like it would take
house away, rain heavy, and FOR 1-1/2 HOURS, I stayed on the floor in the dark.
 Power left early, like about 1 minute after this started. 33 hours later,
power came back on. When the total darkness moved out, looked outside to
downed trees, several homes missing some of their roofs, the biggest mess since
the hurricane. After I did get power back at 11 last night, cable modem was
gone! Cable internet was also gone as it was out and was not restored until
this afternoon, which gave me time to go get a new one and for Comcast to walk
me through getting it set up. Phone service was also disrupted as well as cell
service.

They thought there were tornadoes. There were reports that what actually
happened was something the opposite of tornadoes, which does the same damage.
Lightening was from sky to ground that whole hour and a half. Trees in the
nearby office park were downed as well as 30 miles away.

This storm was not predicted, no warnings. You just saw it get pitch black and
there it was! I have never in all my years seen anything or been in anything
so scary and now I am shaking so bad that if I ever see it start to get dark
again, I think I will leave the whole country.

This is just too much. The worst hit was where I live.

Anyone else in Virginia get any of this?
