I've always thought that was a silly way to take a medical transcription test
(although usually it's companies testing potential employees where I see it),
considering the prominent role references play in the performance of the job.
I have no idea about the setup of the test, but I would understand maybe using
no reference for a general knowledge portion of a test, but if there is any
test about the actual performance of medical transcription, and I certainly
hope there is if the test is to have any credibility, then not using references
seems to me to leave out a major skill that transcriptionists use.
