Well, this Prometrics outfit where you now take the test has been involved in
designing this sort of thing for a while. No matter what AAMT does, somebody
will complain, of course. Maybe someone who took the new test will come and
share their experience with it.
When I heard about the version of the exam that I took in 1994, I did not sit
down and come up with a list of reasons why the test would not work for me. I
looked at the requirements, I decided what I needed to do in order to pass, and
I did that. I really don't understand someone who, knowing nothing about the
test, would state that it should not be taken without reference material.
There are plenty of things I could test an MT on that would not have her or him
reaching for a book.
