The DS 330, while a good recorder, does not have removable media. Two of my
docs are using the Olympus DS 2000, which does. Retail is $249, but I have
found it in the 180 to 190 range on the internet. DS 3000 has a few more
bells and whistles--not sure, as my docs have gone with the 2000. One of my
docs is using a little one that sold for about 80 or so, and includes a
camera. Not my recommendation, not removable media, but it is giving me
good quality recordings. That particular doc is very computer/electronics
oriented. His PA is having trouble using it! If I had to furnish it, I
would probably go with the 330, but would warn them that replacing it would
be their responsibility if broken. It also loses everything if you let the
batteries run out.

I've had no experience with anything but the Olympus. They have recorders
as cheap as about $59. My doctors have so far supplied their own recorders
and are absolutely delighted with the digital system! I still have two
holdouts, and I may supply them if there is no alternative to getting them
to switch.
