StartStop does support a lot of sound formats, but I don't see any of the
Sony proprietary formats on the list, Dani, nor will awave audio convert
them. Support for "just about everything," especially in freeware, does not
generally include formats that companies don't license or formats for which
companies demand high licensing fees.
Sony does not license its codecs. It does provide a free Windows Media
Player plugin that allows the files to play in Media Player, so any wave
player that can make use of Windows Media Player can potentially play their
formats. Whether a player does or not depends on how it works and whether
the programmers have written the necessary code to make use of the Sony
plugin.
