I just watched the "Fat City" one tonight and got downright indignant. Most
of my adult life was spent in and around Houston. IMO just from
observation, people in Houston are no different than anywhere else. There
are fat Texans and skinny Texans. I was a lot skinnier in Texas than I am
now!! I love Texas so I'm enjoying the series but I think GWB is getting a
lot of free advertising! Calling GWB a cowboy right along with Jesus is
pushing it a little if you ask me. Not to mention the fact of sounding like
thanks to Bush Texas has no taxes. HA! I think it was in the 70s when
there were bumper stickers that read, "If you like taxes you'll love Texas."
As far back as I can remember Texas didn't have taxes on groceries and no
income tax way before Bush. Now, if W can promise me that he'll abolish the
nearly 10% sales tax on groceries in Arkansas and do away with the income
tax I just MIGHT vote for him. BTW supposedly the cost of living in
Arkansas is cheaper than most places. Don't believe it. The "personal
property tax" really, really irks me.
