Rae, I think most states have that law, I know Tennessee did and Arkansas
does. However, it doesn't keep you from being sued and lawyers are
expensive. I know of cases in both states where people have been sued, they
didn't win but someone had to pay the lawyer and if that should happen I'd
rather the insurance company pay the fee than to have to do it myself.
Anyway, since I have animals other than horses (which aren't covered under
the equine law), I think it's a good idea to cover all the bases. People
are sue happy these days for anything or nothing.
