I did tell her that there is nothing that she could do that would make us
love her any less. I also told that this event falls into the stupidity
level, and was not evil, it was dumb, and dumb you can survive. I also
shared a couple of my dumb moments. I told her that this won't be the last
dumb thing she does, and she'll survive each and everyone of them.
She did run into several of the boys who told her they had seen the
pictures. She responded with "Don't you wish." and walked away. She was with
my boys and the rest of the hoard they hang out with. It didn't seem to
affect the rest of her day at the fair at all. I told her that in the great
scheme of things this is not that big of a deal. So there's rumors going
around....welcome to high school.
My oldest son's girlfriend found out, and now she and her friends have
formed a mafia-type enclave around her. I think she's going to be all right.
I've yet to meet a teenage boy who can withstand a band of pissed off girls.
They're all over here today and we're headed out to the lake (I hope,
weather's not cooperating). She's going to stay in cheerleading, two of the
girls involved in this mafia are cheerleaders too, and they already know.
She's been by herself most of her life. I think now she's starting to really
feel she's not alone, and has loved ones to trust.
She was so worried about going to the fair yesterday, but I'm glad I made
her. I think everything's going to be all right now.
I'll tell you one thing, for all the horrible things they say about today's
teenagers, if this little group is the norm, then the world's going to be in
pretty good hands. Although they are trying to convience Jesse he'd look
good with cornrows.
