The only things you need to download are the critical updates that apply to
your operating system. If you aren't running XP Tablet edition, you don't
need downloads for that. If nothing you have installed has complained about
the lack of Net Framework, you don't need that yet, although you might if
you get new software at some point that requires it. The chances are fair
that the software in question will install it for you in that case, though,
so wait until you need it. If you aren't running a network firewall that
uses NAT, you don't need a download for that, either. Critical updates
related to things you have, you need. Windows updates that aren't marked
critical are optional - if you think it applies to software you have or that
you have seen the bug it's designed to fix, go ahead and download an
optional. Otherwise I'd leave them alone.
