I'm inclined to think that my own lung problems are more due to
allergies and asthma than to marriage... :-)

OTOH, consider the advantages of not having to worry about fixing
dinner when you've got a ton of tapes to transcribe and the computer
keeps crashing, and having someone else to talk to about your
frustrations with DH when he's getting on your nerves... :-)

I think you're confusing them with some other religions in that
respect.

Why not? If someone with one wife and ten kids can take deductions
for them, why not someone with two wives and nine kids? The math
comes out pretty much the same. If someone is enough of a masochist
to take on two wives at once, that's his own burden to bear.
