Well, I put my numbers on the national no-call list a while back --
didn't seem to make any difference. I'm still getting an average of
1-2 per day. For a month or two I put them in a pile on my desk,
wondering if I would do something with them. Finally got tired of
looking at them and tossed them last week. Junk faxes continue. My
new tack is to start calling those "take me off your list" numbers,
even though I've been warned that it may have the opposite effect.
I've decided to try that for a few weeks to see if it makes any
difference one way or the other. I'm not gonna take the time to file
any grievances any time soon, so I figure I have nothing to lose by
trying it. Maybe at least *some* of these companies have a scruple or
two and will indeed remove my number from their list. What a hassle!
