A few minutes research brought me to this site:
http://fluoride.oralhealth.org/papers/1999/amacadallergpolicy.htm
"As a result of this review, the members of the Executive Committee of
the American Academy of Allergy have adopted unanimously the following
statement:
"There is no evidence of allergy or intolerance to fluorides as used in
the fluoridation of community water supplies." "
The Australian Dental Association says the same thing.
http://www.ada.org.au/_faq_single.asp?id=351
"There has never been a case of an allergy to fluoride. If a person was
allergic to fluoride they could not drink present water supplies because
all water contains some fluoride. Similarly, because of its natural
abundance in nature, fluoride is contained in virtually all food and
drinks. People allergic to fluoride would also be allergic to tea,
coffee, mineral water and seawater."
Similarly, the American Dental Association has similarly endorsed it and
recommends it for all public water supplies.
http://www.ada.org/public/topics/fluoride/facts/index.asp
Why would our dentists recommend it if they didn't believe it was
beneficial? Why would the AAA state that there's no such thing as an
allergy to it when they make their living from treating allergies and
would stand to benefit financially by treating people who feel that
they're allergic to it?
There's an excellent essay and set of related links at
