MTSO is medical transcription service owner - the one who owns the service for
whom you work....

As to cpl, it depends on area of country and whether you are directly working
for a client or subbing. Of course that could be gross lines (anything on a
line), which is affected by font size and margins or character lines that count
characters, spaces, and other codes, etc., then divide by say 65 (65 characters
per line from old typewriter days). These are all able to be counted by
software - not by hand.

Direct rates might range from 10 to 15 or more cpl depending on area of
country. Subcontractors may make 5 or 6 to up to 10 or more cpl depending on
area they are in and how generous the MTSO is.
