It is interesting that you compare this war with WWII and Germany. We are
still in Germany, but not for the same reasons we are in Iraq, but more for our
own purposes, that of more global access to many regions of the world, the same
reason we are in Phillipines, Japan, etc. Additionally, our presence there
adds to their economy, not detracts from it.

I have friends who are making comparison of US with pre-war Germany and with
the USSR --"big brother is watching you" type statements based on the
additional restrictions and surveillance the citizens of the US have had to
endure as a result of all of this, not to mention the imprisonments without
charges being made, without access to attorneys, and with the brutality being
experienced by the prisoners we have detained in other countries. This is not
done by "a handful of untrained soldiers" but rather something that has
apparently been approved by this administration, from the top down.

Also, at one time we were trusted in this world to the point that we monitored
election processes of other countires. I am wondering now if another country
should be monitoring our election process, since it seems a little out of
control at the present time.

How can you trust leaders that take no responsibility for anything that happen.
I am comparing the Bush/Cheney superego with that of Hitler where he was going
to be the savior of the world by ridding everyone of those that were evil. How
long before these egos upset enough countries that they decide the US needs to
be put back on another track?

I have always wondered what made Iraq so special in terms of genocide, when I
see just as much or more in other parts of Africa, but that seems to be ignored
by our leaders. The only logical explanation for this is black gold, the item
that has given the leaders of this administration their wealth over many years.
