Okay.
I worked for MQ x4 as MT and as again as editor. I had problems with the logic
of the local office, but with other offices it was ok. I was paid WELL with
them.
Had 2 stints with JLG, 1 as QA, 1 as MT, and both times the company was fine. I
would recommend them to anyone who is serious about their work. I had the
privilege of meeting them when I worked in their office in Tampa and they are a
hardworking group and the owner is very cordial.
Let's see, Healthscribe as editor...OK, but bad account. I feel the training is
not necessary as far as taking the trip, but it was fun. Program was fine.
Could make no money there as an MT though because the lines just did not come.
Strange group of people when I was there, but all were kind of nice. Could make
no money as an editor because of the swiss cheese reports and being paid on
production, so went PT and then left.
Transcend - Tom Binion is a nice guy. Program was slow at times or timed out.
Was not with them too long before got offer for editor and took it. They seemed
like they were ok. Tom and I have maintained a good business relationship.
MedWare, probably the happiest I had been. Nice easy program. Edited and had
good HARD acute care accounts. Liked them, but did not like corporate
politics.
Uhhhh....Tidewater. I would not recommend if you are in a hurry for a job. My
experience with folks I recommended to them was that office staff sits on
resumes and my recommendations that people go there usually came back at me
with the folks mad because it took them forever to get a call back. My
personal experience was that they were ok though once they got the ball
rolling. Pay was on time and correct.
I have also done some work for 2 people on this newsgroup and they were great
and would recommend them to anyone.!
TSI in Texas. They were very nice. When I worked for them there were issues
with long distance, but they bent over backwards to make it so that I did not
have to pay for it, even overnighting me tapes and the pay was pretty decent
even though I did not know what it was until the work was done. Pay was on
time and was good.
Windrix in California. Wonderful. If I could afford to IC MT, I would do her
work again as she so nicely said I would be welcome back. She paid on time and
was a wonderful lady to work with.
Oracle - edited for them. Nice nice group of people, pay on time, etc. Owner
was one of the nicest folks I can remember.
Rapid Transcript - slow pay - if you like waiting 3 mos for a check or longer,
so did not work there but a very short while. No money, no workie.
A company that stars with an I and ends with an O I would not recommend, and a
company that stars with a D and ends with a G I personally would not recommend.
You don't like, you leave and when you break a finger and someone asks you to
work against doc's orders, I consider that a co that I do not want to give my
services to. A company that breaches confidentiality also is one you want to
avoid. So these two I would give thumbs down. I did not name the companies on
purpose.
I know I have done work for others when needed or asked, but cannot think off
the top of my head, but have consistently worked over the years...many years to
be exact and I was always paid well.
The main ones though were the years I worked for Medquist (I am including YOG
in here) and MedWare as I worked for them the longest. The others I fit into a
schedule and at one time was going to IC, but decided I just did not want to
keep the records or do the tax thing.
Many of these have led to lasting business relationships and some still ask for
help if I have the time; usually I don't. The one I no longer associate with is
Tidewater and that is a matter of public record. Good business relationships
can be shattered when one acts before they think, but I once did recommend
them. We live and we learn.
Vickie - whew!!
