Before I could take the test to get my license, my step-father and dad made
sure I could check all the levels (oil, brake fluid, etc.) and could change
a tire. I am very comfortable around tools. My step-father is very
mechanically inclined but he is a flight engineer and gone a good bit of
the time, my dad is not very mechanically inclined. I remember being on
the cordless phone with him and I was laying underneath my car changing
some belt, replacing the alternator, etc. per his instructions. Very handy
things to know how to do!
