When we received our AE card, I went shopping for new appliances and they
would not let me make the purchase of $10,000. They said we needed to prove
we were "credit worthy" before making such large purchases. We finally got
them to agree after we provided our brokerage information and they were able
to verify we could pay back the purchases.
