When I was in high school in Rhode Island (late 40s/early 50's) in
Massachusetts it was legal to shoot a Rhode Islander crossing the border
into Massachusetts. There was a fuss about it, and I believe the law war
repealed. But, It was illegal well into the 50s (and may still be for all I
know) for a pharmacist to dispense any birth control product. Of course it
wasn't enforced, but it was the law!

On our property we have 5 dogs, 8 housecats, 3 horses, and an indeterminate
number of feral and semi-feral cats. 3 different household and 10 acres, of
course. We do have a limit of 5 dogs in our zoning--even though it is
essentially an agricultural community, and pigs are outlawed. We used to
raise a couple of pigs a year in NJ, and there is no reason why a
properly-maintained pig should be outlawed in an agricultural area. Our
neighbor usually raises 1 a year, and we wouldn't think of complaining.
