As a matter of fact, the wireless headphones I bought at Big Lots (which are
the best headphones I've ever owned) are intended for TV watching and
amplification, and would probably serve this purpose just fine. You plug the
transmitter into your headphone jack, turn on the headphones, and have an
additional volume control to amplify them further. I bet nobody buys them
because they say "for TV watching" but they sure do work for transcription!
They could probably be plugged into the church's PA system in the same way.
Don't know how multiple headphones would work, but maybe one transmitter would
cover it? (Science is not my strong suit.)
