I really appreciate one place where I can actually walk in the door without
sidestepping the bell ringers - I do give to the Salvation Army, by the way. As
some of you may know, I relinquished a baby for adoption in 1970 through the
Gladney Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
The apartment building which housed us has been turned into a Salvation Army
shelter for women and their children, to keep families TOGETHER rather than
separate them. I am glad to give money to them, but even more fun was making
baskets and taking them to the families there. I don't get to do that every
year, unfortunately.
I think that people are doing the right thing by protesting with their
pocketbooks if they disagree with Target's advertising, but I think the rally
is ridiculous. Their time could be so much better spent elsewhere.
