Is it just me, or is this really pathetic? It's not even fun, like a
flash mob. Why donate regular time, money, or resources to the charities
that you claim really matter to you when you can simply go off
half-cocked, half-informed, and make an ass of yourself once or twice a
year? (I wonder how many Minutemen were also picketing movies like Life
of Brian. *snort*) I think they're missing an opportunity to embarrass
themselves on the local news by ignoring the other big box retailers
who've also made the move to protect their customers from solicitors.

Also, have I missed out on a good series with the Housewives? I have so
little time for teevee any more, and kind of resist adding a new
addiction. Maybe I was too busy catching up on Nip/Tuck.

Of course, I've already thanked Target for sparing us the sidewalk
spammers, asked them to give us an alternative to the monster WalMart
(hate 'em, but when they save an average of 50¢ an item on groceries,
it's worth the trip--I have yet to see a SuperTarget in FL, but will
gladly switch when we do), and have done most of my Christmas shopping
there (Best Buy and B&N are my next stop). Somehow, I suspect this kind
of silliness always ends up bringing more customers than driving any
away. Nothing motivates people like telling them not to do something.

Well, maybe that's just me. ;)
