My understanding is, she was the problem. Allegedly, Dee was a spoiled
little brat who wanted to live high on the hog. Darin wanted more stability.

I heard that Darin had actually disappeared for at least a year and lived in
his car, somewhere in the mountains, living off of the land. If I remember
correctly, this was shortly after RFK died, which was a short time after he
learned that this sister was his biological mother. I suppose the guy just
imploded and needed to find himself.
