I feel your pain. Check through the list here, and see if you can figure
out how to get your favorites recognized again:

I would guess you are going to need to do a registry edit.
If all else fails, download Firefox, import your IE favorites into that, do
an export, and you can get them back into IE with an import. Of course,
once you have Firefox, you won't have any further use for IE <grin>.
