Speaking of omens--I just went to the Caribbean to see my son's wedding aboard
a Carnival cruiseliner...it was lovely by the way. Prior to going, I had
another broken foot that had not healed from October. In mid-Dec, I went to
the derm doctor to have a lesion looked at that I had had for a VERY LONG TIME,
had tried a few years ago, but no derm doctor where I lived was accepting new
patients, so nixed the idea.
Anyway, about 1 hour after the wedding on Monday, I received a call on my cell
phone from my doctor who told me that I did indeed have **malignant melanoma**
in that lesion that is very close to the groin area of my right upper leg inner
portion. I have to have surgery and perhaps whatever they find, other
necessary treatment.
Soooooooooooo....I think I want to skip 2005 all together. I had already
scheduled cryotherapy of precancerous lesions on my nose for 1/21, but this was
not on the agenda. This is a tad scary particularly in light that I keep
losing weight.
I think I need positive thoughts coming my way for 2005 and hope that things
pick up after the first couple of months of this year.
