Well, on Neal's glowing recommendation (take no offense Neal, I try out new
software all the time) I downloaded and installed Thunderbird.

I loved the spam handling, but I could not get the program to quote or show
threads the way I like.

I turned off all the HTML options, and it still would not allow me to use
simple ">" for quoting. It used these blue bars, and would not display
quoted text.

I even tried an edit of the preferences file that I found on the web, but
that didn't solve the issue either.
