This kind of thing is just nuts. Years ago a friend of mine, about age 17,
worked in an ice cream shop in our small town in Maine. She had no car and she
walked down Route 1, up Maine Street to bank at night with money. Insane. It
was a good mile or more. Finally, the cops started giving her a ride. You'd
think that especially the big outfits would have either armed security or
police escorts for this.
