My parents had chihuahuas when we were kids and they graduated to rat
terriers. The chihuahuas were totally temperamental. Their teeth were
razor sharp. They got along with us kids okay I suppose, but they were
jealous and would let it know in no uncertain terms that they did not like
us to receive the attention. The rat terriers had a better temperament. I
like my shih tzus.

One of my mother's rat terriers had the colors you mentioned and she lived
to be about 14 years old if I recall. She was a nice dog.

I have to stick to doggies I am not allergic to such as the shih tzu and the
Benji-type dogs. I am allergic to the rat terriers as well as the
chihuahuas.
