Good for you! That's the way to do it. Get a proper education, get that typing speed up, and so on. A lot of the MT folks I know started with the terminology course first to see how it would go. Of course, a lot of us were older students (and a lot were parents) and maybe a little insecure about our abilities. If you can get through that, and you will, you can get through everything else.

Unless you have a strong medical background already, you're going to need a lot more than just the accounts and the speller. A typist who can type 120 wpm would be slowed to close to zero if they had to look up every word. You must know terminology, anatomy, physiology, drug names, doses, and indications, etc. If you don't know the drug doesn't even come in 15 mg, you can easily hear that instead of the 50 the doctor mumbled through his tuna sandwich.

How long is too long for turn around time? one, two, five days?
Any other "requirements"?
I want to be sure she is giving me correct information, any help is greatly appreciated TIA for considerations!
