Re: Link to Living Wills/Advance directives previously posted

Why aren't there more online advance health care directive registries,
like the one Arizona (http://www.azsos.gov/) just implemented in March?
I understand that Kaiser Hospitals are implementing a digital medical
patient record with epic (http://www.epicsys.com/), but what will it
entail, and will it be user friendly enough to be able to easily bring
up a living will/Advance directive/DNR ECT.... I understand that these
are all questions for hospitals for look into. But when their system
fails and they can't find my medical records, and give me a shot of
something that would kill me when I want to stay alive. Or they mix my
record up with John Doe, and kill me by accident. Besides the fact that
I'd be dead, people (I hope) would be fairly ticked off. What I'm
trying to get at is that there are probably many groups who have
started putting these files online and the hospital organizations are
just too lazy to implement them. Because lets face it, when changing
over to a new system for any organization, regardless of what it
pertains to, it is difficult.

Well anyway, there's some food for thought. I will try to find more
groups that do online: health directives, medical records, and other
such documents; and post them later. if anyone else can find any that
would be great.
