Re: Male reasoning (sorry Ed, Neal)

Were you one of those kids like me, Jeannie, who had nightmares during all of Fire Prevention Week at school? They'd tell us delightful stuff like, "Most house fires occur between the hours of 12 and 3 a.m." My parents got very little sleep after that, with my constant hounding about, "Is it 3 o'clock yet?" Mom finally asked my teachers to PLEASE not give me any more of the fire prevention handouts; it was doing more harm than good! For some reason, fire terrifies me.

You wouldn't have to worry about that here!! I am SO GLAD to know someone else worries about things like that. LOL. Every night before we go to bed, I make sure nothing is blocking our "exit passages" - all paths to any of our three exits are completely free of obstructions - even small toys, nothing is on the stairs and when my son has had a "big time" playing in his room I make sure there is a free and clear pathway to the door. DH thinks I'm nuts but I just hate to think that the one time I don't clear the pathway, our house will catch on fire and I'll break my leg trying to get out. LOL
