Yeah, well around here it seems the churches are out in droves trying to get antigay legislation voted out. They need to lose tax exempt status and see then if they still feel so strongly about it.

Correct. The church I was raised in has an official policy stating just about exactly that. There is also an official church policy which says that members should not join in any petition or activism against gay people.
