Re: Pregnant senior not allowed to graduate with class

I'm plenty outraged if someone doesn't get a job, loan, etc., because they are fat or any other reason. Now in all fairness, there are some jobs a certain weight would preclude. I think the airlines standards are (or were) ridiculous. You don't have to be thin as a rail to be able to do that job. However, you also must be able to stand and walk for long flights and you have to be able to fit down the aisle. If a job requires crawling into tight spaces, obviously you have to be able to fit.

It's right here. My outrage is real and I express it whenever I hear about it. I think it's terrible. I write letters to companies, letters to the editors of the local papers, I let my outrage show. Of course, when I do it on here it isn't always accepted well, but I would like to think most of us are decent and do feel that discrimination of any kind is wrong. We don't pick and choose as you do between the heterosexuals and homosexuals, we think any discrimination is wrong.

Anyone can be discriminated against. One doesn't get a job because he/she is too fat. Another can't get a mortgage because the house is in a bad neighborhood (redlining), one doesn't get the house because he/she likes to party, anything. Can and do are two different things. I saw a woman who applied for a job in my office turned down because the manager said she was too fat. Where is anyone's outrage about those kinds of discrimination.

Gees, Louise. You really don't know, do you? They can be discriminated against for jobs, loans, housing, anything. Of course then in theory one could discriminate against someone for being straight, too. That I'd like to see

But what "rights" are they not getting because of being homosexual?

You are the one who said if you "support" homosexuals then you are supporting their lifestyle. Perhaps you should go back and read what you wrote and I will go back and do the same to make sure I have not confused you with someone else. Believing that they are due their equal rights just the same as everyone else is not supporting their homosexual lifestyle, it is supporting a fellow human being.
