Speaking of homosexuals....

Right after my surgery last week, while waiting in Recovery for a bed on the floor and we were told I would be going to her floor, 5 south, she said Mike was the nurse that would be on duty that night. I said, "How is he?" She said, "He's gay."

After getting out of the hospital, on the way home I mentioned to Martha
that he sure didn't have any of the gay "characteristics" I had expected. She had said "He's great." I musta been more under the anesthesia still than I thought.

She said the next day when she told Mike what I had said, he about died laughing and said his wife and two kids would enjoy that one.

The criteria, at least in my state, is that one must be a legal adult or have written permission from his/her parent. One must be capable of entering into a legal marriage; not already married, not mentally incapacitated, not marrying someone who is not legally able to marry. Homosexuals can meet these criteria as well as heterosexuals. Where the special privilege comes into play is that homosexuals are demanding the right not to meet all the criteria and be allowed to marry someone whom they cannot legally marry.

But therein lies the problem. You say the criteria must be met. What criteria do the heterosexuals have to meet? To be heterosexuals. How can you think it's not a problem if it isn't possible for homosexuals to meet them? It used to be that the criteria was a black person couldn't get married in the eyes of the state and they certainly couldn't marry someone who wasn't black. Now that's allowed because it was discrimination and they realized it. It's discrimination no matter how you or anyone else feels about it personally. There are blood tests in some states, age requirements in some states, if they can meet those who is it hurting if they are of the same sex, except being offensive to your dignities? It doesn't hurt me. Is it physically painful to you?
