Re: Windows XP Help

Thanks Dani. That's is what I thought and have already done.

Another question. On my Windows 98 I changed the background color so Word would not have that glaring white screen, but have not figured out how to do it in XP.

That's just to let you know that they are your system files and if you don't feel comfortable or experienced enough to mess with them, to leave them alone, but considering C drive is where everything is, you'll be hard pressed to not touch it ever. You'll be fine. Now go to Tools, Folder Options, and View and then choose to show all files, do not hide files, whatever it is.

I had Windows XP Home Edition installed by a computer shop yesterday and now am going to transfer files from my other computer.

When I click on C: in XP is says "These files are hidden. The folder contains files that keep your system working properly. You should not modify its contents.

Should I transfer files to this C drive or make another drive, such as D.

C drive shows as Local Disk C:
File System NTFS
Free Space 72.7 GB
Total size 74.5 GB

So I think it is partitioned to only one drive and I actually could not create a D drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
