i have some rookie questions

hello!
this is my first time posting in a news group, so i'm a rookie there...
but i have a few questions about medical billing. i would like to start
doing this to supplement my income and pay off the monkey on my back..i'm
burned out working the job that i do which is a very 'good' job but its
sucking the soul out of me.
what i'm searching for is some information from ppl that are actually
veterans of this whole med. transcript world...
how does one get started?
is this a truly flexible type of endeavor?
do you manage to make a decent amount of cash?
any responses would be greatly appreciated....
