Maureen, first off, good luck to your son on his adventure. Sounds like he
lucked out...Japan is a lot safer than Iraq! Secondly, keep checking the
fares between Chicago and Japan - they change with the seasons. My daughter
has been to Japan three times and I know she's never spent more than $1000
RT - she's too cheap to spend more. If my memory serves me correctly, the
last time she was there about a year ago she spent $750 RT. I'll ask her
what travel services she subscribes to - I know she was looking for an
affordable fare to Norway in August and just told us last week that she was
able to snare a trip, business class no less, for about $700.
