I'm gonna disagree. A good salesperson knows their product. They may
not have ever used it, they may not ever have produced it - but
knowing it and the industry is essential.

If Deborah is going to sell transcription services, she damn well
better find out what 98% accuracy means. And if she expects to collect
commissions, she better make sure that's what's being delivered.

Transcription isn't like a car that you buy one of every couple years
(or less). It's an ongoing service. The customer has to be pleased
over and over on a daily basis. But I'm sure you expect more from a
Lexus than you'd expect from a Ford. And I sure hope you'd look inside
the car and make sure the Ford salesman was telling you the truth
about the luxury leather interior and heated seats, or under the hood
to verify that the engine has 8 cylinders instead of 4.
