The republican party has abandoned the Goldwater republicans or as they say
was hijacked by the Dobson wackos. I like to say I didn't leave the party
it left me! I never was a party person but I mostly voted republican - I am
basically independent as I vote issues and the person. I did work for years
in the republican party with a local candidate and that is when I grew to
see the direct change and corruption in the party in 2001 through him and
the party statewide and nationally. That is my bitter contempt for it and
for Bush and company. What I saw and heard made me physically ill. Chris
Vance our state chair is sickening. He and Karl Rove our two of a kind.
Their comments and attitudes towards the poor and elderly and infirmed would
curl your hair and I truly feel that is the attitude of the administration
and the party line. (Obligation to get out, drop dead and make room for the
rich). I could not get out of their fast enough. The candidate I was
working for actually could not understand why I dropped out. When I spelled
it out he still couldn't get it. That's when I saw him for the evil he was.
Sorry, Howard Dean is right. The republicans just don't give a damn about
any one else. I saw that first hand and that IS their agenda.
