I agree with 100%.

Sure you can ask. It was very close with me. I did not know what to do, honestly, but when the last minute got here, I decided to vote with him just because I did not care a lot for Kerry. I figured at least he knew what had gone on over the years he was in the first time.
Unlike most of you though, I do like Bush. I can't explain it, but I think he is a good man and I will leave it at that.

Vickie,
May I ask just why you voted for him, then? I know that a lot of people voted for him because of so-called 'values', but that just means things like his proposed anti-gay marriage amendment. I look around at some of the folks here who voted for Bush, and I don't understand why. One woman said she did because she's a small business-owner. Well, her small business is about as big as mine here, and I can tell you that I'm getting no benefit from Bush being in office as compared to when Clinton was in office, so that reasoning didn't wash with me. I know others who voted for him out of fear of another attack if he wasn't elected; these folks forget that 9-11 happened on his watch (I know it had been planned for something like 10 years, probably since Gulf War I, but like the director of a movie, the sitting president gets credit or blame; history shows this). I know others who voted for him because of Iraq, using the "you don't change horses midstream" thinking, but a lot of these people said they didn't agree with the war in the first place, which left me shaking my head.
I'm just trying to figure out what motivates people to vote the way they do. I read What's the Matter With Kansas, which tries to explain how people in the author's home state consistently vote against their own best interest, and I still don't get it.
I didn't vote for Bush either time because I felt he wasn't qualified for the job. To me he didn't have a good grasp of what was going on in the rest of the world, and this last time the "us and them" mentality really put me off. Hel, to him I'm one of "them" because I'm not out waving the flag and cheering on the sidelines. That type of black-and-white thinking doesn't work in this world, IME.

That's Susan! She thinks we are idiots and has no second thoughts on
it,
very emphatically clear about it.
I just look at the source and that's her opinion. I know I am not an
idiot
so that's really all that matters.
I would never say that anyone who voted another way was an idiot, but
that's
the nature of the beast/ Susan goes kind of **off** when talking politically, so I have learned that anything could come out of her
mouth and
have seen it.
Overall, I think she is pretty good though...even if she does think we
ones
who voted Bush are idiots.

That's a little harsh...anyone who voted for Bush is an idiot? I
didn't
vote for him and never would, but that is a little more offensive
than
usual.

I get the impression he is just a big frat boy and that's all he
wants
to
be
and some how ended up president because Neal got in too much
trouble
with the savings and loan mess and they had no choice but to dump him
into
the white house because Jeb wasn't ready.
Now I know how Jeannie feels! LOL
What's most amazing is this dimwit got elected not once, but
TWICE. We
should feel just as stupid!
