It sounds as though you are charging for characters plus spaces, and she
is doing a gross line count. That's the only difference. With those
teeny margins, I certainly wouldn't charge gross count, because it
would be less money. I must say, though you did not ask, you really
should not be using the Word line/character count feature as it is not
very accurate. Every time it doe the count, it says it's only an
estimation! I'm not charging based on estimation, I need the real
number. I use a Word add-on called Abacus that I like, but there are
other line count utilities that will do the job.
