Does she have one of those medic alert lifeline devices a person can wear and press the button when they are in trouble? Sounds like she would be an ideal candidate for one of them.Hi, y'all, I just had to vent.
My Mom is gone on a trip, so I promised to call my grandmother every couple of days and check on her. I've been trying to reach her since Tuesday, and her line is either busy or she doesn't answer every single time. I'm an hour and a half drive away from her, so I can't just pop in.
What aggravates me is that I know she does this on purpose to worry us and also to then be able to say we haven't called. But you know, she's almost 87, and you can never be sure that she isn't sick or something, so I have to worry anyway.
My mom goes to visit her every day, and sometimes she will come to the door, and sometimes she won't. She'll be inside, just sitting there, and won't open the door! Often Mom ends up leaving the food she makes her on the porch and just leaving. Then later she says, "Well, I was right here, you should have knocked harder." The problem is, how the heck are we going to know if something does happen to her? Mom has a key to her place, and I told her to start unlocking the door and going in when she won't answer, but she won't do it.
So here I sit, dialing and dialing when I don't have time to dial and dial. What a bummer. Why do people have to be so weird????
:(
