Re: Trouble in Paradise?

Well, I fully admit I'm not a business planner/fiancial genius, but 300 grand is a darn lot of money to underestimate. This is not that big of an organization.

I was reading some on MT Chat about them apparently pulling some kind of bait and switch on student members - not continuing to give them JAAMT if I understand correctly, when that was what they'd been promised. If I understand it right, it seems to me it's kinda like me joining the Appaloosa HOrse Assoc and the form states it includes a year subscription to their magazine, then partway through decide they can't afford that any longer. If they are changing terms, they owe people refunds. Someone should call the BBB or someone and report them.

If I don't bring in X amount of money at home, we can't pay our bills. If I like designer clothing and gourmet food, it stands to reason I either better work harder or learn to eat KFC and shop at Kmart. The nice professionally done Journal looks nice, but if it costs that much then maybe a cheaper printing setup would help. Then, too, what about the advertising in the JAAMT? Shouldn't that be covering a good deal of the expense of producing it?

Maybe that's where a good part of that 300 grand disappeared to.

It is not that 300 grand is missing (or so it has been said on the AAMT boards). It was a "missed budget". They said they did not over-spend and did not mishandle any money.
