Depending on exactly what plan you have with AOL, I believe there is now an option where you can be on one screen name under dialup at the same time as any/all of the other screen names via cable.

That's just it, they don't have any kind of internet there. It will have to be dialup. You might be right - guess it wouldn't hurt to try it.

If you're accessing AOL via your cable at home, it shouldn't kick you off for inactivity. I'm not sure it even does that anymore using dialup unlimited. I stay signed on for days on AOL bring your own access through my cable. Occasionally there will be a glitch somewhere and you get shut down, but I routinely stay on line for days.

I am going to put the web cam up at the business this weekend. I got the camera to work at home on the laptop, but the problem is, my husband's business doesn't have cable or DSL - they have no internet whatsoever (his business partner is so tight he squeaks when he...well, you get the picture). I plan on using logmein.com so I can have remote access to the laptop, run the camera from the laptop, and we can just see any activity there from my screen here.
I have AOL unlimited on the laptop - but doesn't it kick you off after so many minutes of inactivity?
Is there a way to write a script in ActiveWords that accesses a website every few minutes, or refreshes, anything that will keep AOL from thinking no one is on, so it won't kick us off? I know nothing about scripts, though, and before I jump in to learn it, would like to know if such a thing is even possible.
It would really save him a lot of trips on weekends just to check on things.
I don't know if it will work, but wanted to give it a try, especially before winter hits.
