Honestly. There have been all kinds of experts on our local news here lately
trying to tell people this and then when we bought my new Durango in March
and I read the manual from cover to cover it did specifically say to use 87
or 89 octane as engines in the last 15-20 years have been made to run on
this lower octane specifically, and it is doing no good to your engine to
use the higher octane. I didn't research it any further than that, being in
the owner's manual was enough for me, but I'm sure it would be easy to find
the info on the 'net.
